About TeeJay

TeeJay is Scotland’s No. 1 Maths publisher, founded on 1st February 1994 by brothers Tom and John Strang (the T and J in TeeJay!)

Tom, a Principal Teacher of Maths, was disappointed by the Maths homework that his children received so he wrote homework to accompany the Heinemann Maths books that were used in Scottish primary schools at that time. Parents liked it so much that Tom and John decided to publish the homework as photocopiable packs for teachers. And that’s where TeeJay began!

John managed the business-side of TeeJay while Tom wrote the books, along with Maths teachers Jim Geddes and James Cairns. Over the following 25 years, TeeJay created the only unified set of Maths resources that takes pupils from Primary 1 through to Secondary 6. The books are enhanced by corresponding Homework, Assessment and Mental Maths packs and free course planners, providing full support for teachers and pupils alike.

TeeJay Maths became part of the Hodder Gibson family on 1st April 2019. 

And now the TeeJay range is expanding! As well as continuing to produce high-quality Maths resources for the Scottish curriculum, TeeJay is producing resources to support English and Literacy teaching. Starting with resources for First Level, this range includes Textbooks, eBooks, Teaching Guides, Assessment Packs and Practice Packs.
